Question marks??????

14/6/2017

Picture
I'm posting this for several reasons...
One of my juvenile Question Mark Cockroaches has finally become an adult!!! I've waited a very long time for this. There is a juvenile (nymph) next to her. She doesn't have an adult male yet, but is already laying an egg (which you can see coming out of her back end)! I'm not sure if it will be fertile as there are no males yet, but it may be if she can lay parthenogenic eggs. This means it will be a clone of her instead. Many insects and some amphibians, fish, birds and reptiles can do this.
