This is a drawing from a 700 year old illuminated manuscript.  It was shown to me by a lovely historian called Fran who lives on Orkney.  It is meant to be a joke showing a snail as the falcon and the falconer as a rabbit (or possibly a hare due to the long ears and legs). At least I hope it's a joke as this would have been a scary sight in real life. I'm not going to show it to Gary and Tobi just in case they decide to become hunting snails...

Here are Gary and Tobi enjoying a session with the children.  They love being handled because they are nosey snails and like to explore.  They also love how warm the children's hands are.  Tobi is very fussy and only comes out for children and not adults!  The snails made them giggle a bit when they licked the children's fingers!
(PS. It doesn't hurt, just tickles.)
