This was my second trip back to this wonderful little Museum. I met 600+ members of the public again, it's definitely full on! Everyone was so kind and gentle with my animals and so complementary afterwards. The Museum even invited me back to do a lecture!
I spent a lovely morning in Highweek with this fabulous charity having fun! For more information see www.heartheroes.co.uk
Male and female Leaf Insects from the Philippines getting ready to meet the public. They are waving their legs in excitement!!!!
I shared a bit of chicken with Sebastian the other day. People went crazy about it on Instagram! He's sooo cute. Both him and Ketam have been waving at me from their cage front recently. After a year of hiding in their massive cage they have decided humans are not scary any more.
These animals are not officially in Frazoo but are my pets that live with me! Lots of children have been asking about them so I thought I'd put them in my blog. Lyra the dog is a 3 year old Labrador who is very sweet and funny. She is very kind to all animals and will lick their face if she can. She does dog agility which she really loves and is very good at jumping over jumps, going through tunnels and climbing up on the high platform. She sometimes gets excited and jumps the wrong jumps. She can do lots of tricks like 'beg' 'twirl' and 'roll over' but gets them muddled up sometimes!
The grey cat is Sherlock who is 6 and is a very sweet well behaved cat. He has a mad session after breakfast every morning and does forward rolls around the kitchen, which always makes me laugh a lot. The cat with a collar is Pan, he is one year old and although he is very beautiful he is the naughtiest cat I have ever had in my life. I will not embarrass him by listing his crimes but it is a very long list...he loves Lyra and goes to sleep cuddled up under her chin and they are the best of friends. I love them all very much and they give me a cuddle and make me laugh every single day. This is Colin the Cuban False Chameleon(otherwise know as a Western Bearded Anole)! Yes, those are some long names for such a little guy...He is a very rare find and is absolutely stunning. He is quite young and I am still hand feeding him, it takes a long time as he is very slow. He can puff up his chin flap and also stick his black tongue out at you(I will share those pictures soon). He is very unusual-looking don't you think?
Today Nala shed her final skin to become an adult mantis! You can see the skin behind her. The large blob by her foot is a moth, it doesn't realise that when she has 'hardened off' her skin and is ready for action she will go moth hunting...
I found Percy asleep against the glass today so I got my microscope camera out. The first picture is the underside of his toes. The second picture is of his funny thumb that looks like a flower, The third is his tummy scales and the last one his beautiful eye. It's hard to get a good shot without turning the camera light on and then it reflects off the glass. Need to try some different ideas...
My spiney mice like to cuddle up together when they sleep to keep warm. This is what they would do in the wild. For some reason Buttercup my smallest female likes to sleep on top of her sister, sometimes back to front. It looks like Blossom is wearing a bizarre nightcap...the expression on her face looks like she's not that impressed. I don't think anyone really wants to sleep with a bum right in their face! I like this picture partly because it makes me laugh, and partly because you can see the amazing 'hedgehog spines' very clearly.
