Meet the animals!

Macleay's Spectre
(Extatosoma tiaratum)

Picture
These huge and impressive stick insects come from Australia. They look very fierce and roll up their abdomen like a scorpion and wave their arms at you. This is all bluff as they are very slow and gentle in their behaviour and are great for new Frazoo children. The males are very skinny with huge wings. They are constantly trying to fly across the room and land on the curtains which they do very ungracefully. The children love watching them fly, a bit like a little toy aeroplane.

Fascinating fact:  They have a special relationship with a species of fire ant that takes care of their eggs! Come along to Frazoo to find out more...
